Compact Fluorescent (CFL) Bulbs Information & Links. YOU can make a Difference.
Compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs SAVE money and are GREAT for the environment.
If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR CFL, we would save enough energy to light more than 2.5 million homes for a year and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of nearly 800,000 cars.
ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs:
Many of the leading corporations in the United States, including Walmart, Yahoo, and Symmetric Technologies, are supporting the CFL initiative. The goal is to educate people about the cost-saving and environmental benefits of compact fluorescent (CFL) light bulbs so that individually they save money and collectively they bring about an environmentally-beneficial outcome.
Mel Coker, Columbia Realtor, has personally committed to join this effort by changing bulbs in his personal residence and using the marketing and publicity potential of his ColumbiaSouthCarolina.com website. Mel also created the FIRST "One Billion Bulbs" group webpage in Columbia and in South Carolina! Please join Mel Coker in this effort. Replace at least one bulb in your home with an energy saving CFL. Please be sure to join Mel's online
Columbia, South Carolina group at OneBillionBulbs.com.
